Dear Colleagues,

I hereby present to you the first issue of Medical Science Educator, The Journal of the International Association of Medical Science Educators IAMSE. The journal is the successor of JIAMSE, our highly appreciated peer-reviewed journal for health science educators to publish their scholarly work helping to move medical science education forward.

In this issue you will find several regular articles on innovative teaching methods, as well as two meeting reports on educational meetings from within the last few months.

To celebrate this first issue of Medical Science Educator, it is freely available for all who are interested in Health Science Education. I hope you will enjoy this first issue and that you and your colleagues will consider publishing your own scholarly work in our Journal for the benefit of all our readers.
